Goals
The Martinez family wanted a photo booth that could do three things: capture every guest alongside the quinceañera and her court of honor, provide a fully bilingual experience for a multigenerational family where grandparents speak primarily Spanish, and create a physical keepsake book that the family could treasure for years.
Quinceañeras are deeply personal celebrations. The photo booth is not an add-on — it is part of the tradition. Families expect it to be there, and they expect it to be beautiful. The Martinez family chose Airtel Plaza Hotel in Van Nuys, a venue that is popular for quinceañeras across the San Fernando Valley, and they wanted the photo experience to match the elegance of the evening.
Setup
Custom XV Años Template
The print template was designed with the honoree’s name in elegant gold script alongside XV Años styling that complemented the event’s color palette. Every print was a personalized keepsake — not a generic template with a name dropped in, but a design created specifically for this celebration.
Pink Flower Wall Backdrop
A full-size pink flower wall served as the photo backdrop, creating a lush, romantic setting that matched the quinceañera aesthetic. The flower wall was a natural draw for guests of all ages — from the court of honor taking group portraits to abuelitas posing with their grandchildren.
Bilingual Attendant
Our bilingual attendant guided guests in both English and Spanish throughout the evening. This was essential for making sure every family member felt comfortable and included, especially older relatives who may have hesitated at a photo booth that only operated in English. The attendant also helped coordinate the 14-person court of honor group shot — a logistical moment that requires patience, cultural understanding, and good humor.
Scrapbook Station
A dedicated scrapbook station was set up next to the photo booth where guests could paste a copy of their photo and write a personal message. By the end of the night, the scrapbook was completely filled — a physical album of memories, messages, and photos from every table at the reception.
Results
180 guests attended the quinceañera, and the photo booth was one of the most active areas of the reception all evening. Over 400 photos were captured — a mix of individual portraits, couple shots, family groups, and the full 14-person court of honor group photo that the Martinez family had specifically requested.
The court of honor group shot required coordinating 14 teenagers in formal attire with the quinceañera at the center. Our bilingual attendant managed the logistics with care, arranging the group in front of the flower wall and capturing a photo that the family described as one of their favorite images from the entire evening.
The scrapbook was completely filled by the end of the night. Guests wrote messages in both English and Spanish — some funny, some deeply emotional. The abuelitos recorded audio messages in Spanish through the Audio Guestbook, sharing blessings and memories that the family will be able to listen to for decades. Several messages brought tears to the family during a private playback the following day.
For the Martinez family, the photo booth and Audio Guestbook were not just entertainment — they were the way the family preserved the evening. The scrapbook sits on their coffee table. The audio messages live on their phone. And the 400+ photos are a complete visual record of a night that mattered to every person in the room.
“The bilingual attendant made all the difference. My abuelita felt comfortable, the court of honor photos were perfect, and the scrapbook is now our most treasured keepsake from the entire quinceañera.”— The Martinez Family
Why Quinceañeras Need a Culturally Aware Photo Experience
A quinceañera is not just a party — it is a milestone that carries deep cultural significance for Latino families. The photo booth at a quinceañera has to understand that. It has to accommodate the court of honor group shot, the multigenerational family portrait, the abuelita who needs gentle encouragement in Spanish, and the group of primos who want to take 15 photos in a row.
Captured Celebrations is a Latina-owned, bilingual business based in La Crescenta. We understand these celebrations because they are part of our culture. The Martinez family did not have to explain what a court of honor is, or why the scrapbook matters, or why the audio messages from the abuelitos needed to be in Spanish. We already knew.
For families planning a quinceañera in the San Fernando Valley, Van Nuys, or anywhere in Los Angeles, this case study shows what becomes possible when the photo booth team truly understands the celebration.
