Captured Celebrations photo booth at a Los Angeles wedding venue

Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

The $200 retainer is non-refundable. It is earned upon booking to reserve your date and covers preliminary design work. All other terms below apply to the remaining balance.

Cancellation Terms

TimingWhat You Owe
30+ days before eventRetainer ($200) only — no additional charges
15–29 days before event50% of total package price
14 days or less100% of total package price

Cancellation fees reflect actual losses from blocked date availability and completed work. Governed by California Civil Code §1671.

Rescheduling Your Event

You may reschedule your event once within 6 months of the original date at no penalty, provided:

  • You provide written notice of the reschedule request
  • We have availability on the new requested date
  • The new date is within 6 months of the original

Your retainer and all payments already made transfer to the new date at the same package rate. A second reschedule request will result in forfeiture of the retainer and the cancellation policy above will apply.

Weather Policy

For outdoor events, you are required to have a backup indoor location or adequate weather protection (tent or canopy). If severe weather makes setup unsafe or impossible, it is treated as a force majeure event — see below. If the event proceeds outdoors despite severe weather warnings and conditions affect photo quality, we are not responsible.

Force Majeure

In the event of a natural disaster, pandemic, government order, or venue closure, you may choose to:

  • Reschedule to a new available date — all payments transfer
  • Receive a credit valid for 12 months
  • Cancel with only the retainer forfeited — no additional charges

If we cancel due to force majeure, you receive a full refund of all payments made. We went through the LA wildfires alongside our clients — we understand some things are beyond anyone’s control.

What is the cancellation policy for Captured Celebrations?

If you cancel 30 or more days before your event, only the $200 retainer is forfeited — no additional charges. Cancellations 15–29 days out require 50% of the total package price. Cancellations within 14 days require 100% of the total package price.

Is the retainer refundable?

No. The $200 retainer is non-refundable. It is earned upon booking to reserve your date and cover preliminary design work. The only exception is a Provider-initiated cancellation due to force majeure, in which case a full refund of all payments is issued.
