Captured Celebrations at Bridal Expo 2023: Lasting Memories

Captured Celebrations joined the Bridal and Wedding Expo at the Los Angeles Convention Center on September 24, 2023. It was our first major trade event — and the opportunity to introduce the audio guestbook alongside our photo booth lineup to engaged couples across Southern California.

For a young, Latina-owned business founded earlier that same year, the Bridal and Wedding Expo was more than a marketing opportunity — it was a statement. We showed up alongside some of the most recognized names in the Southern California wedding industry, and we did so with equipment, service, and cultural authenticity that immediately resonated with the couples who visited our booth.
The Los Angeles Convention Center is a massive space, and the Bridal and Wedding Expo fills it with hundreds of vendors covering everything from floral design to catering to entertainment. Walking into that environment for the first time as exhibitors was both humbling and energizing. We knew the product was strong. The question was whether we could communicate that in a room full of noise, competition, and couples who had dozens of vendors vying for their attention.

What We Showcased
Audio Guestbook — A New Kind of Keepsake
The audio guestbook was the centerpiece of our expo presence. Rather than a signed paper book, guests at the wedding pick up a vintage handset and record a voice message — stories, blessings, advice, and laughter that no written note can capture.
For couples who have never seen an audio guestbook in person, the expo was a chance to experience it firsthand: hear the quality, understand the format, and imagine what their grandparents' voices would sound like recorded the night of their wedding.
What made the audio guestbook resonate so strongly at the expo was its emotional immediacy. Couples would pick up the handset, record a quick test message, and then play it back. Almost every time, the reaction was the same — a pause, then a smile, then the realization that this is what their abuela's blessing or their best friend's toast would sound like preserved forever. Several couples teared up right there at our booth, imagining the voices they would capture on their wedding night.
The audio guestbook also sparked conversations about bilingual weddings. Many of the couples we spoke with came from families where some members speak primarily Spanish and others primarily English. A written guestbook often defaults to one language. A voice recording captures the person in their natural tongue — the emotion, the cadence, the specific way a tía gives advice that just cannot be translated.
Photo Booth Options
We brought live demos of our booth lineup so couples could try different setups:
- Open-air photo booth — instant prints with custom wedding templates
- Retro Mirror Photo Booth — full-length touchscreen experience
- Glam booth — studio-quality portraits with polished lighting
Each booth was fully operational at the expo, which made a significant difference compared to vendors who simply displayed brochures or slideshows. Couples could step into the open-air photo booth and see the quality of the print within seconds. They could interact with the retro mirror photobooth touchscreen and experience the animations, prompts, and full-length mirror effect that makes it such a hit at elegant events. They could pose for the glam booth and see how professional studio lighting transforms a simple portrait into something magazine-worthy.

Complete Memory Packages
We introduced combined photo booth and audio guestbook packages — giving couples a way to capture both visual and audio memories from their wedding in a coordinated experience.
These packages were designed specifically for couples who want a cohesive memory experience rather than piecing together separate vendors. When the photo booth and audio guestbook come from the same team, the setup is coordinated, the attendant manages both stations seamlessly, and the couple receives a unified collection of memories after the event — prints, digital galleries, and audio recordings all from one trusted provider.
The Expo Floor Experience
First Impressions Matter
The Los Angeles Convention Center expo floor is competitive territory. Hundreds of vendors are set up in rows, each trying to catch the eye of couples who are walking through with limited time and unlimited options. Our approach was simple: let the product speak for itself.
Rather than flashy signage or aggressive sales tactics, we created an interactive experience. Our booth was designed so that couples could walk up, try the equipment, and feel what it would be like at their actual wedding. The photo booth was printing live. The audio guestbook was recording live. The templates on display were real designs from real weddings we had already served.

Conversations That Shaped Our Business
The most valuable part of the expo was not the leads we collected — it was the conversations. Engaged couples told us exactly what they were looking for, what they had seen from other vendors, and what was missing from the market.
Several themes emerged repeatedly:
Bilingual service matters. Many couples mentioned that they had contacted other photo booth vendors and felt like the bilingual aspect was an afterthought. At Captured Celebrations, bilingual service is foundational — our team speaks Spanish and English fluently, our templates can be designed in either language, and our attendants can engage with every guest at the event regardless of their primary language.
Cultural sensitivity is not optional. Couples planning quinceañeras, multicultural weddings, or events rooted in Latino traditions wanted a vendor who understood the significance of these celebrations — not just someone who could show up with a camera. The conversations we had about the difference between a quinceañera and a Sweet 16, about the role of padrinos, about the importance of including extended family in every photo — these were conversations that only happen when the vendor shares the cultural context.
Quality over quantity. Couples consistently said they did not want unlimited prints that ended up on the ground at the end of the night. They wanted fewer, higher-quality keepsakes that guests would actually take home and treasure. This aligned perfectly with our approach — professional-grade prints on premium paper, custom-designed templates, and studio lighting that produces images worth framing.

Why Bridal Expos Matter for Photo Booth Selection
Seeing Is Believing
One of the biggest challenges in booking a photo booth for your wedding is that most couples have never used a professional photo booth before. They have seen the results on Instagram or Pinterest, but the actual experience — the lighting, the print quality, the attendant interaction, the speed of the prints — is something you cannot evaluate from a website alone.
Bridal expos solve this problem. When you walk up to a vendor's booth and take a photo, you see exactly what your guests will see on your wedding night. You can compare print quality side by side with other vendors. You can ask questions about customization, timing, and logistics. You can evaluate whether the attendant is someone you would want interacting with your guests.
For couples considering a wedding photo booth, we always recommend experiencing the equipment in person before booking. Whether that happens at an expo, a showroom visit, or a consultation, the tactile experience of holding a print and seeing the lighting quality firsthand is invaluable.
Building Vendor Relationships
Bridal expos are also where vendor relationships are formed. At the 2023 expo, we connected with wedding planners, venue coordinators, florists, DJs, and caterers who have since become referral partners. These relationships matter because a well-coordinated wedding depends on vendors who know and trust each other.
When a planner recommends Captured Celebrations to their couple, it is because they have seen our work, know our team, and trust that we will deliver. That kind of recommendation carries more weight than any advertisement.

What We Learned and How It Shaped Our Growth
Expanding Our Service Menu
Feedback from expo conversations directly influenced our decision to expand into AI photo booth experiences and corporate event solutions. Couples mentioned wanting something unique and tech-forward for their receptions, and corporate clients at the expo expressed interest in branded activations. These conversations planted the seeds for services we now offer regularly.
Refining Our Packages
The pricing conversations at the expo helped us understand what couples valued most and what felt like unnecessary extras. This feedback shaped the tiered package structure we use today — ensuring that every couple can find an option that fits their budget while still receiving the premium quality Captured Celebrations is known for. You can explore our current options on our pricing page.
Strengthening Our Brand Identity
Perhaps most importantly, the expo reinforced our identity as a culturally rooted, quality-driven photo booth company. In a market full of generic rental services, the couples who connected with us at the expo did so because they felt seen — because our team understood their traditions, spoke their language, and offered an experience designed with their specific celebration in mind.

Tips for Couples Attending Bridal Expos
If you are planning to attend a bridal expo to find your wedding photo booth vendor, here are some tips based on what we observed:
-
Try every booth in person. Do not just collect brochures — actually take a photo and examine the print quality. The difference between vendors becomes immediately obvious when you hold the prints side by side.
-
Ask about customization. Can the vendor create templates that match your wedding theme, colors, and language preferences? A generic template feels generic at your wedding.
-
Evaluate the attendant. The person staffing the booth at the expo is often the same person who will attend your wedding. Are they warm, professional, and engaging? Do they speak your guests' languages?
-
Ask about packages versus à la carte. Understanding how pricing works — and whether audio guestbooks, extra hours, or additional prints are included or add-on — will help you compare vendors accurately.
-
Check their reviews. Before the expo, look up each vendor's Google reviews and case studies. Real feedback from real couples tells you more than any sales pitch.
-
Think about your venue layout. Talk to vendors about your specific venue. An experienced photo booth company will ask about power access, ceiling height, lighting conditions, and guest flow — not just the date and headcount.
Exploring All Your Photo Booth Options
Choosing the right photo booth for your wedding means understanding the full range of photo booth experiences available. Beyond the open-air, retro mirror, and glam booths we showcased at the expo, Captured Celebrations also offers:
- AI photo booth — transforming guest photos into artistic portraits using artificial intelligence, perfect for couples who want a cutting-edge experience
- Flower walls — stunning backdrops that double as photo opportunities and venue decor
- Roamer photography — a photographer with a portable printer who moves through your reception capturing candid moments
Each of these options can be customized to match your wedding aesthetic, from the template design to the backdrop selection to the prop collection. Our team works with you during the planning process to ensure every detail aligns with your vision.

Looking Back — And Looking Forward
The 2023 Bridal and Wedding Expo was a milestone for Captured Celebrations. It validated what we had built in our first year, introduced us to couples and vendors who became lasting partners, and gave us direct feedback that shaped the business we are today.
Since that expo, we have served hundreds of weddings, quinceañeras, corporate events, and community celebrations across Los Angeles. We have earned recognition as a top photo booth vendor in the region, built relationships with premier venues and planners, and continued expanding our service offerings to meet the evolving needs of our clients.
Every event we serve traces back, in some way, to the foundation we built at that first expo — the commitment to quality, cultural authenticity, and genuine connection that defines Captured Celebrations.
