The Oak Photo Booth: Vintage Style for Los Angeles Events

If you came here looking for our retro mirror photo booth, it is retired. We do not rent it anymore. What took its place is the Oak Booth, and honestly, it does the job the mirror was doing better than the mirror did.

What the Oak Photo Booth Is

The Oak Booth is a solid oak frame that stands freestanding on a wooden tripod, built to look like an old plate camera. On the back sits a 19-inch vertical touchscreen. Inside is a Canon EOS R100 24.1MP mirrorless camera and a DNP DS620A dye-sublimation printer.

It captures photos, GIFs and boomerangs, shares to guests' phones instantly, and sends every file to an online gallery after the event.

The whole thing weighs about 32 pounds and sets up in roughly a minute.

Why We Moved On From the Mirror

The mirror booth was a statement piece, and that was the whole point of it. But a full length mirror in an ornate frame reads as event equipment. It announces itself.

The oak frame does the opposite. It reads as furniture. It sits in a room the way a side table or a floor lamp does, which means it belongs at a wedding reception instead of interrupting one. That was the trade we wanted to make.

It is not a mirror booth and we do not describe it as one. It is a wood booth with a touchscreen on the back.

Additional hours are $150 per hour on any package.

Two things worth being clear about. Oak Silver is digital only, so if you want guests walking away holding something, Oak Gold is the first tier that prints. And prints are one per person per session, so if three guests are in the photo, all three take home their own copy.

Oak Signature is the one we recommend for weddings and quinceañeras over 150 guests, because the fourth hour is usually the difference between a line at the end of the night and everyone getting their turn.

Which Events It Suits

Weddings. Guests dress up for a wedding and the oak frame photographs well next to that. It sits comfortably against velvet drapes, greenery, or a clean branded backdrop.

Quinceañeras. The court gets ready, the gowns are the centerpiece, and everyone wants a photo together. The booth handles the volume and our attendant works in English and Spanish, so nobody stands there confused about what to do.

Corporate events and galas. The booth does not look like a rental, which matters at a black tie event. Add your logo to the start screen and the print layout and it reads as part of the production.

Space, Power and Setup

Plan for roughly a 5 by 5 foot footprint, plus room for guests to stand back from the camera. You need a standard power outlet within reach.

That is a smaller footprint than the mirror booth needed, which makes the Oak Booth easier to place in tight cocktail spaces and older venues where floor plans are fixed.

Our team arrives ahead of your start time, sets up, tests it, and breaks down at the end. Setup itself takes about a minute once we are in the room.

Common Questions

Is this the same as the retro mirror booth? No. The mirror booth is retired. The Oak Booth is a different product, a wood frame on a tripod with a touchscreen on the back rather than a full length mirror.

Does every guest get a print? On Oak Gold and Oak Signature, yes, one print per person per session. Oak Silver is digital only.

Will it match an upscale venue? That is what it was built for. The oak and the tripod read as furniture, so it works in warm, modern and minimal spaces alike.

Do you bring it across Los Angeles County? Yes, all of it. Most of LA County has no travel fee, and if your venue sits outside that range we tell you the fee in your quote before you book.

What if I wanted the mirror specifically? Tell us what you liked about it and we will be straight with you about whether the Oak Booth gets you there. Sometimes the honest answer is that a different booth in our lineup fits better, and we would rather say that than sell you the wrong thing.
