The short version
On October 23, 2026, we delivered a Drop-Off Glam photo booth to Candela La Brea for the Los Angeles Catrina Ball & Día de Muertos Food Festival, hosted by Lily LA Catrina. It ran from 5 to 11 PM with no attendant on site and captured 703 photos, boomerangs and GIFs.
Six Days to Party Night
Lily LA Catrina found us through the link in our Instagram bio and booked on Saturday, October 17. The Catrina Ball was the following Friday. That left six days to lock in a booth, a custom design and a plan for a six-hour night.
The host wanted three things. The booth had to run itself, so nobody had to babysit it during a busy party. It had to look like part of the Catrina Ball, not a rental dropped in a corner. And guests had to walk away with their photos on their phones right away.
A Room That Never Sits Still
Candela La Brea is a private event venue on South La Brea Avenue with a main room, an upstairs room, a lounge and in-house 3D projection mapping. For the Catrina Ball, the walls became a candlelit Día de Muertos courtyard, with marigold garlands on the stage and marigold arches on the tables.
Gorgeous for guests. Tricky for a camera, because the light keeps moving. So the booth brings its own: an LED ring that fires with every photo, so faces stay bright and even while the walls change behind them.

A Design Built in Two Days
On Tuesday we sent the host our design picker. By Wednesday morning they had chosen a Day of the Dead template with black lace florals. We added the event name, the date, and the Candela and Lily LA Catrina logos.
Then we built matching layouts for the GIFs and boomerangs, so every capture carried the Catrina Ball look, plus a custom tap-to-start screen that read “Pick an Experience.” Guests saw the party's branding before they ever hit the button.
Set Up, Then Out of the Way
Our attendant arrived in the afternoon, set the booth up on the main floor, and ran a test photo, GIF and boomerang to check the lighting and the frame.
At 5 PM it switched itself on. At 11 PM it switched itself off, and we picked it up. In between, nobody had to touch it. That is the whole point of drop-off: the host gets to enjoy the party.

The Night in Motion
Guests switched between photos, boomerangs and GIFs all night. These are four of the 27 they made, straight from the booth with the Catrina Ball frame.
The Results
By 11 PM the booth had captured 703 moments: 676 photos, 22 boomerangs and 5 GIFs. Guests could share each one on the spot by text, email or AirDrop.
We promise the full online gallery within 48 hours. This one was ready a little after 1 AM, about two hours after pickup.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can a photo booth work at a Day of the Dead party in Los Angeles?
Yes. At the Los Angeles Catrina Ball at Candela La Brea, a Drop-Off Glam booth ran for six hours and captured 703 photos, boomerangs and GIFs. Face paint, flower crowns and gold headpieces photographed well because the booth brings its own light.
What is a drop-off photo booth?
A drop-off photo booth is delivered, set up and picked up by Captured Celebrations with no attendant staying on site. Guests tap the touchscreen and go. The Drop-Off Glam booth adds a skin-smoothing filter and a custom start screen.
How far ahead do I need to book a photo booth?
Earlier is better, especially in October and December, but short notice can work. The Catrina Ball was booked six days before the party, and the custom design was approved two days before.
Can you rent a photo booth at Candela La Brea?
Yes. Candela La Brea is a private event venue at 831 S La Brea Ave in Los Angeles, and Captured Celebrations has set up a booth there. Check the venue's outside-vendor rules with your contact; we send a certificate of insurance ahead of time.
How do guests get their photos?
Guests can share instantly by text, email or AirDrop at the booth. The host receives the full online gallery with every photo, boomerang and GIF within 48 hours. For the Catrina Ball it was ready the same night.
