Guitar Center Service Awards Jam Night

A national music retailer took over a Thousand Oaks brewery to honor its own people. We built a custom AI caricature style in Guitar Center red and black, and printed it in guests’ hands the same night. 293 photos delivered.

Coverage

Counts taken from the gallery delivered to Guitar Center on July 31, 2026: 122 prints carrying the Guitar Center template, 114 individual photos, 57 AI caricatures.

In short: Guitar Center hired Captured Celebrations to run an AI Print Booth at its Service Awards Jam Night on July 30, 2026 at Tarantula Hill Brewing Company in Thousand Oaks, CA. An AI print booth photographs each guest, restyles the photo with generative AI, and prints the finished artwork on site. Captured Celebrations built a custom caricature style for this event, a Guitar Shop and comic blend in Guitar Center red and black, chosen by the client from five samples and tested on real faces beforehand. Over four hours a two-person crew delivered 293 photos: 122 prints carrying the Guitar Center template, 114 individual photos, and 57 AI caricatures.

The Event

On July 30, 2026, Guitar Center held its Service Awards Jam Night at Tarantula Hill Brewing Company in Thousand Oaks, CA. This was an employee recognition night, not a retail promotion: the company honoring its own long-tenured people. Guitar Center booked Captured Celebrations to run the AI Print Booth from 5 PM to 9 PM with a two-person crew, in a room built for roughly 500 guests.

A music company at a brewery is a specific kind of crowd. People are standing, moving, holding drinks, and talking to each other. An activation only works there if it is fast, if it looks good enough to interrupt a conversation for, and if it hands something back before the person walks away.

Goals

Guitar Center came to us specifically for AI caricature. They did not need a photo booth in the corner. They needed a piece of the night that felt like it belonged to the brand, and that an employee being recognized for years of service would actually want to take home.

A caricature is a portrait somebody keeps. A photo strip from a work event is not. The brief was to make the art good enough that a guest would rather have the illustration than the photo it came from, and to get the brand into the art itself rather than stamping a logo on the corner.

Setup

A Custom AI Style Built for This Room, Not a Preset

We sent five sample caricature directions before the event and let Guitar Center pick. They chose a blend of two: a Guitar Shop look and a comic look, rendered in Guitar Center red and black. The final style was built from that blend and tested on real faces before event day. It was made for this night, not selected off a menu of stock filters.

Reference Art With No People In It

This is a rule we hold on every AI build. Reference images that contain a person can transfer that person’s features and skin tone onto the guest standing in front of the camera. Our references are scenes, textures, and objects only. Guests come out looking like themselves, in the style, every single time.

Prints Handed Over On Site

The AI Print Booth pairs the generated artwork with an attended print station, so guests leave with the physical piece in hand instead of waiting on an email. One print per person, per session, handed over at the table with digital delivery alongside it. 122 of the 293 files we delivered were prints carrying the Guitar Center template.

Red Ruby Sparkle Backdrop

A deep red sparkle backdrop reads as stage lighting rather than office party, and it sat right inside the red and black palette the caricature style used. It gave the AI a consistent, high-contrast base to work from and gave the room a photo destination people could spot from across the floor.

Four Hours, Staffed Throughout

A two-person Captured Celebrations crew ran the activation from 5 PM to 9 PM, in a room built for roughly 500 expected guests, with setup starting mid-afternoon. One person kept the capture line moving and coached poses, the other ran generation and the print table. At that pace, staffing is the whole game.

Results

293 photos went out to Guitar Center the day after the event, delivered as a live gallery plus a downloadable folder organized the way a communications team actually uses it: prints carrying the Guitar Center template in one set, untemplated individual photos in another, and the AI caricatures on their own.

122 of those were branded prints, which means 122 pieces of Guitar Center artwork physically left the building in someone’s hand that night. 57 were AI caricatures. The remaining 114 were clean individual photos with no template, which is the set an internal comms team can actually reuse in a newsletter or a recognition deck without a booth overlay sitting across it.

Delivering in three labeled sets rather than one undifferentiated dump is a small thing that decides whether a corporate client uses the photos again or lets them sit in a folder.

Why AI Caricature Works for a Corporate Night

A photo of yourself at a work event is a photo of yourself at a work event. An illustrated portrait in a style built for that one night is a different object. People frame those. They put them on a desk. They post them without being asked, because the art is the interesting part and the brand comes along with it.

The catch is that generative art is only as good as the setup behind it. A style developed the week of the event, sampled to the client for approval, tested against real faces, and built with reference art that will not corrupt a guest’s appearance, is the difference between an activation people line up for and one they try once. That prep work happens before the truck is even loaded. See how the same thinking played out on the AI watercolor build.

“Anybody can run an AI filter. The work is in building a style for the actual room, showing the client samples before you commit, testing it on real faces before the doors open, and making sure the reference art never changes what a guest looks like.”
Liz Colon, Captured Celebrations

What We Learned

Two things carried this one. First, sending the client several sample directions and letting them pick, then blending the two they liked, produced a style nobody had to be talked into. Second, every reference image needs to be checked for people before it goes anywhere near a live event: reference art with a person in it will push that person’s features and skin tone onto your guests. Scenes, textures, and objects only. That single rule is the difference between guests who look like themselves and an activation you have to apologize for.

AI Print Booth Questions

What is an AI print booth?

An AI print booth is a staffed photo booth that runs each guest photo through a generative AI style and prints the finished artwork on site. Captured Celebrations builds the style for the specific event rather than using a stock filter, so the artwork matches the brand and the room. AI Photo Booth packages start at $1,500 for 3 hours.

How many photos does a 4-hour AI print booth produce?

At Guitar Center Service Awards Jam Night on July 30, 2026, a 4-hour AI Print Booth produced 293 delivered files for a room of roughly 500 expected guests: 122 prints carrying the Guitar Center template, 114 individual photos with no template, and 57 AI caricatures.

Can an AI photo booth match our brand colors?

Yes. For Guitar Center, Captured Celebrations sent five sample caricature directions before the event, and the client chose a blend of a Guitar Shop look and a comic look rendered in Guitar Center red and black. The final style was built from that blend and tested on real faces before event day.

Do AI photo booth reference images affect how guests look?

They can, which is why Captured Celebrations never uses reference images containing people. A reference image with a person in it can transfer that person’s features and skin tone onto the guest in front of the camera. Reference art is limited to scenes, textures, and objects so guests come out looking like themselves in the chosen style.

Does an AI photo booth work for corporate and employee events?

Yes. The Guitar Center booking was a Service Awards night, an internal employee recognition event rather than a public promotion. An illustrated portrait built for that one night is a keepsake employees keep, and the untemplated photo set doubles as reusable material for internal communications.
