Ontario Tower Buzzers — K-Pop Night

A minor league baseball team wanted fans to leave with more than a game ticket stub. 189 sessions, 309 dual-panel photocards, and a 1.6× print ratio later — they did exactly that.

Fans at Ontario Tower Buzzers K-Pop Night posing with their dual-panel K-Pop Night photocards — Captured Celebrations photo booth activation

The Ontario Tower Buzzers play at ONT Field in Ontario, CA — a minor league ballpark that knows how to run a themed fan night. For their K-Pop Night on May 27, 2026, the team contracted Captured Celebrations as their official photo booth vendor to deliver a professional fan activation alongside the night's other programming.

The Buzzers also offered their own free self-serve DIY photocard station as part of the fan experience. Captured Celebrations operated a separate, fully staffed professional activation — custom-branded overlay design, attendant-managed printing, and post-event analytics. The result: 309 dual-panel collectible photocards distributed across 189 staffed sessions throughout the evening.

Goals

Minor league teams run themed nights to drive attendance and create memorable moments that bring fans back. K-Pop Night had the theme, the visuals, and the crowd. What it needed was an activation that gave fans a physical keepsake — something that felt native to K-Pop culture rather than just a branded photo strip.

The brief was clear: fans should leave with something collectible. Not a generic souvenir. Not a standard photo booth strip. A real photocard — the kind K-Pop fans already know how to use, trade, and display.

Setup

Dual-Panel Photocard Format

The photocard format is what makes this activation different from any other photo booth. Left panel: the guest photo. Right panel: K-Pop Night event branding with the Buzzers logo, stars, lightning bolt graphics, and the date. The format is immediately recognizable to K-Pop fans — because it is exactly what a real K-Pop photocard looks like.

Custom K-Pop Night Overlay Design

The overlay featured a purple-to-blue gradient, K-POP Night typography in the style native to K-Pop promotional materials, star and lightning sticker elements, the Ontario Tower Buzzers logo, and the event date stamped on each card. Every print looked like it belonged on a lanyard or in a binder — not on a fridge.

Continuous Activation Throughout the Game

The booth ran from gates open through the final innings. Running throughout the game rather than only during a set window meant fans could visit between innings, after getting food, or whenever the moment felt right. This contributed to the 1.6× print ratio — fans returned because there was always a good moment to go again.

Professional Attendant for Flow Management

With 189 sessions over a single evening, pace and flow were essential. Our attendant guided guests through the experience, helped groups coordinate poses, and kept the line moving without losing the personalized feel. At events like this, the attendant is the difference between a machine people walk past and an experience people wait in line for.

Results

189 sessions. 309 prints. A 1.6× print ratio means most groups came back — not because they had to, but because they wanted another card. Some wanted a second for a friend. Some wanted to try a different pose. Some came back with more people. Either way, 309 dual-panel photocards walked out of ONT Field that night.

The 24 digital shares were organic — no incentive program, no hashtag contest. Guests shared because the photocard looked good enough to share. That is the metric that tells you the format worked: people voluntarily put your client’s branding on their Instagram feed.

For the Buzzers, every card that left the stadium that night carried their logo into a fan’s home, phone, and social feed. Not for 72 hours like a typical photo booth share — for as long as that fan keeps the card.

Why the Photocard Format Works for Fan Nights

Standard photo booth prints are generic. A photocard is cultural. K-Pop fans already have a vocabulary for photocards — they know what they are, they know how to pose for them, and they know what to do with them after (sleeve, display, trade, give away). When you use that format at a K-Pop-themed event, you are not handing fans a branded photo. You are handing them something they already know how to value.

That is why the 1.6× print ratio matters. Generic prints get one. Collectibles get multiples. The Buzzers’ fans treated these the way K-Pop fans treat photocards — as something worth having more than one of.

“The 1.6× print ratio tells the whole story. Fans weren’t just taking a photo booth print — they were collecting photocards. Once you design to match what fans already value, you stop competing with the cotton candy stand and start being the line people get in on purpose.”

What We Learned

Fan culture already has its own keepsake vocabulary. When you build an activation in that language — rather than adapting a generic photo booth template — fans recognize it instantly and engage with it the way they engage with the thing you’re referencing. The 1.6× print ratio at this event was not an accident. It was the result of a format fans already knew how to value.
